The ILC Framework
From Mission to Impact
From Mission to Impact is the five-lens framework that guides how Impact Logic examines an organization, identifies opportunities for greater clarity and alignment, and connects internal operations to the mission and intended impact.
Mission sets the direction. Impact grows when that direction is carried through clear priorities, aligned ways of working, responsible stewardship, and intentional learning.
Five Lenses. One Framework.
These five lenses are the interconnected dimensions Impact Logic examines to understand where an organization's direction is clear, where it becomes unclear, and what that means for the people carrying out the work.
Mission Integrity
Does the organization's work reflect the mission it exists to advance?
Strategic Clarity
Does the organization know what matters most right now?
Operating Alignment
Are roles, workflows, tools, and communication practices aligned with the work?
Stewardship of Capacity
Can the organization responsibly carry the work it is trying to do?
Learning Through Impact Visibility
Can the organization see what is working, what needs attention, and what is changing?
Direction. Translation. Experience.
Across all five lenses, Impact Logic examines whether organizational direction has been clearly established, consistently translated through leadership, and understood, supported, and experienced by the people carrying out the work.
This is not a separate framework or service. It describes how Impact Logic looks across the five lenses — examining whether direction is established, carried through, and experienced at every level of the organization.
Direction
What has the organization established or intended?
Translation
How is that direction being carried through leadership, systems, communication, and everyday practices?
Experience
How is the work understood, supported, and experienced by the people carrying it out?
Clarity and Capacity Principle
People are best positioned to succeed when mission, vision, and expectations are translated into clear, supportive ways of working. Impact Logic builds on what is already working and strengthens the systems, support, and operating conditions that help people contribute their best and carry the mission forward.
The ILC Way
From understanding the work to putting clarity into practice.
The From Mission to Impact Framework guides what Impact Logic examines. The ILC Way describes how an engagement moves from inquiry to practical operating design — four phases, each building directly on the one before it.
Diagnose
Understand what is happening, where greater clarity may be needed, and what evidence says about the operating conditions surrounding the work.
Decide
Help leadership clarify priorities, responsibilities, standards, decision authority, and necessary tradeoffs before solutions are documented.
Design
Translate confirmed decisions into practical roles, workflows, tools, expectations, communication practices, and operating structures.
Launch
Prepare the organization to put the new ways of working into practice with clear ownership, tools, sequencing, and implementation guidance.
The Operational Clarity Index
The Operational Clarity Index is one diagnostic instrument that may be used within the Diagnose phase when structured comparison of organizational perspectives would strengthen the work. It is not a separate public service, employee performance evaluation, or satisfaction survey.
How the framework becomes practical work
The framework helps Impact Logic understand where greater clarity or alignment may strengthen the organization. The engagement turns those insights and leadership decisions into practical ways of working.
